Russia has begun importing gasoline from Turkey (a NATO member) to survive and keep their war going.

Somebody fired multiple explosive drones at a German civilian airport.

https://www.reuters.com/world/german-po ... 026-08-05/
Multiple explosive‑laden drones have been used in an attempted attack on Leipzig/Halle Airport, one of Germany’s largest cargo hubs and a key NATO logistics node. This wasn’t a single incident — investigators now confirm at least three drones were involved across several days, making it one of the most serious hybrid attacks Germany has faced. Reuters +2

---

What actually happened (confirmed facts)

• Drone #1 – Explosives attached, found near runway (Aug 4–5, 2026)
An airport employee spotted a drone carrying an explosive device near the runway. Police deployed an explosives‑disposal robot and removed the detonator. German Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt called it a “new quality of danger” and a hybrid attack scenario. Aljazeera +1
• Drone #2 – Collided with a DHL cargo aircraft
A second flying object — likely another drone — struck a DHL cargo plane after it aborted landing due to the runway closure. The aircraft diverted to Hannover, where minor damage was found. Aljazeera
• Drone #3 – Found later with suspected military explosive (Aug 14, 2026)
Investigators discovered a third drone west of the airport along with ~50g of suspected hexogen (RDX), a military‑grade explosive. Reuters

---

How close this came to a major disaster

• Leipzig/Halle is a major NATO logistics hub, including Ukrainian Antonov aircraft used for military supply missions.
• One drone was found near multiple Ukrainian Antonov An‑124s, among the largest cargo aircraft in the world.
• A German bus driver even kicked one drone out of the air when he saw it flying low — an act officials say may have prevented a serious attack. Reuters

---

Who is suspected?

German security sources cited by major outlets suspect Russian intelligence involvement, consistent with previous hybrid operations targeting NATO infrastructure. Moscow denies this. Reuters

Because this involves explosives, critical infrastructure, and suspected foreign intelligence activity, federal prosecutors are treating it as a counterterrorism case.

---

Why this matters

This incident marks a significant escalation in drone‑based hybrid attacks:

• Use of explosives, not just reconnaissance or nuisance drones
• Targeting civilian aviation infrastructure
• Potential to disrupt NATO supply chains
• Demonstrates adversaries testing Western response thresholds

Germany’s interior minister explicitly warned that explosive drones at airports represent a new threat scenario for European security. Reuters

Russia has struck another Ukrainian border crossing with Moldova.

Russian drones attacked the international Vinogradivka–Vulcănești checkpoint on the Ukraine–Moldova border.

The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine says operations have been temporarily suspended following the attack.
