Moscow greets the deported: draft notices handed out at the aircraft

A plane carrying Russians deported from the United States has landed in Moscow.

According to Dmitry Valuev of Russian America for Democracy in Russia, there were several dozen people on board — from asylum seekers who were denied protection to those who violated U.S. visa rules.

The flight routed through Egypt under escort. The deportees say no one attempted to escape. But upon arrival, some were given military draft notices right at the airport.

Since Donald Trump returned to the White House, deportations of Russians from the U.S. have increased significantly. Earlier, human rights groups reported that upon arrival in Russia, people were subjected to hours-long interrogations by security services, and some were detained.
