With all the choke points being held by one power this forces America's adversaries to use asymmetrical warfare to redraw the map. Thus China using Russia as a vassal to strike the EU is their way to undermine the US hegemony in the world order. Post Trump the US will be a much weaker state no matter what they do as economies are built on trust and abhor monopiles. So they will take their dollars anywhere but the US.
