Bibi needs to be reigned in but in a way that doesn't destabilize the government. Keeping him guessing will force him to be more cautious and waste time and he only has a limited window to act.

Bibi was forged in the flames of war. If you think screaming genocide at him is going to deter him you're fooling yourself. Israel can and will hit Iran and this is a factor Iran is expecting. Their entire strategy is based upon asymmetrical warfare. They want Israel to over extend itself and then exploit the instability and perhaps even overthrow their legitimacy. Israel need to be precise, limited and decisive whereas Iran and its proxies just need to cause trouble and fire rockets at cities with enough number to over run the anti-air as the cost favors Iran even if 95% are shot down it is the threat and the constant vigilance that extracts a toll.

Iran needs to be humbled. This is something that can be done as Russia is not in a position to bolster Iran as their hands are full with Ukraine and China is more interested in participating in the world economy rather that tying their fate to the axis of evil that includes North Korea. The Axis may have a huge standing armies but they are conscripts and given the chance to defect they would surrender in massive numbers.

There has been a lot of sabre rattling about attacking the nuclear facilities but they are so far along and so hardened as to require an extensive bombing campaign to root out and Israel can't afford the losses. Easy, low hanging fruit would be air bases, navel assets, ammo depots and energy facilities. Taking out the drone factories would be a plus but would be as effective as taking out the V2 rocket program during WW2 with the majority of the labor being decentralized and expendable slaves. It was only after a ground campaign that captured the launch sites was the program finally countered.

The US signalling for Israel to wrap it up will force Israel to really focus on what punch it will throw and at what rather than throwing everything at the wall and seeing what sticks witch will only lead to more war. A long war is in no one's interest.
