Platform Neutrality vs. Content Moderation: Shopify maintains that it is an infrastructure provider and not an "arbiter" of its merchants' worldviews, generally avoiding removals unless laws are broken (1:46-2:05). The company has a history of fluctuating policies regarding hate content, including past actions against groups like the Proud Boys (4:57-5:08), but has more recently removed prohibitions against hateful content from its acceptable use policy (9:05-9:09).
Normalization through Merch: Researcher Amara Singham notes that providing a platform for the Dominion Society enables both financial backing and the "normalization" of extremist political goals, as selling branded merchandise helps foster a sense of community identity (11:46-12:12).
Corporate Influence: The video links Shopify executives, including CEO Tobi Lütke, to efforts aimed at shaping Canadian public policy, such as the Build Canada initiative. It also highlights concerns over the company's previous business relationships with figures like Alex Jones and Kanye West (12:55-15:20).
Internal Tensions: Shopify has historically struggled with internal employee pushback regarding the types of vendors it monetizes, leading to internal memos warning staff that the company's stance on hosting a "wide mix" of merchants might not be a fit for everyone

The Billionaire who funded a private pace mission got his money by inventing and patenting a faster way to do secure bank transactions.

So he might be the only billionaire who got his money from banks directly. So he might not be a bad guy.
