Just as well, I always felt the Canadian Taxpayers Federation was just some group made up by some malcontent rightwinger who calls himself the President of it. Never heard of any conventions or Board of Directors or elections. Never seen a single policy that benefits Joe who goes to work for a living, only benefits larger business interests.

All true. No doubt there are rank and file that believe in the stated goals and have self reinforcement of an echo chamber to become a clique. Their concerns still should not be tossed out of hand and their strongest attacks should be heard but not used as a blunt cudgel to attack policy itself. Such as the wasteful expense of covid relief of the CERB. The policy had flaws but worked to keep the economy running so it was a success but the taxpayers still have a reasonable rational to call out waste.
So to is calling out the 9 year old government. It has serious problems and to gloss over them would be folly. I expect them but even a sieve holds some water for a brief window. The question of where the money comes from and how will we sustain policy are important for whatever government holds the reins. Will the same standard be held for the next government remains to be seen.
