Reddit subforums such as r/Canada and r/Alberta are in much the same way. The mods from the start it seems were rabid and poisoned the well. To them I say it is long past time to touch grass and get out of the the funhouse mirror of your echo chamber. Sadly, they are more interested in their lust for power and being the big fish in a small pond than tolerate diversity. If there was ever a cause to the dead internet theory it would be this and not bots. All bots can do is reflect what is already there.

OMG not sorry to see that one forum go. 90% if the posts were from a Gang of 6 or 7 total Trump suckholes. The Canada section was full of white supremacist anti-immigration types who's reply []You're the racist for pointing out my racist post. You hate white people![/i]
Others simply claimed the previous poster said the complete opposite of what they posted and argue against that. Anyone who asked Poilievrie for some policy rather than tax cuts, slogans and less obstructionism was an extreme leftist and half insisted Hitler was a leftist too.
Used to be a guy on CKA an American suing the name Bart who I disagreed with his politics was well worded, logical and posted very informative stuff. Others there that would say why they disagreed with something rather than saying You're an Idiot! Fuck Trudeau! Leftist! or only ever posted a finger emoji.

From the site:
RePolitics.com was built to explain Canadian democracy. Its closure reflects how much faith in that democracy has been lost.
To that I can only say from the vitriol on display on a daily basis there it was a cesspool and if that's their idea of what they were trying to frankenstein into existence I say good riddance as well. If all it was good for was a circle jerk of trolls then why did it take this long for them to shut it down? I guess as it was not gaining traction it was just an expensive vanity project.

Veered so far from it's stated objective it was laughable. People seemed to think an Internet petition meant shit and the Governor General was 'corrupt' for not acting on one. So much for explaining Canadian democracy. Pro Trumpers regularly accusing Cdn politicians of corruption....

Most likely the reason for the shutdown was because the hosting had to be renewed and like this forum had no source of revenue.

Let's all try to do better here.
