No one is making money in AI. Nobody.

As a bonus, the drive to build data centres has chokes the supply of PC hardware so badly that many PC manufacturers are down 80 - 90 % in sales. The AI bubble may have more casualties other than AI.

Commencement Backlash: At multiple universities, including Middle Tennessee State University and the University of Central Florida, speakers were met with audible disapproval when discussing the benefits of AI (0:42 - 2:47).
Real-World Concerns: The host outlines several reasons for this hostility, including job displacement, the massive environmental and energy costs of data centers, and the strain on natural resources like water (3:40 - 7:55).
Operational Failures: The video highlights a specific incident at Glendale Community College in Arizona, where an AI-powered system failed to read students' names correctly during their graduation ceremony (8:36 - 9:57).
Gen Z Sentiment: Drawing on recent data from a Gallup poll, the video notes a significant decline in positive sentiment toward AI among Gen Z. Between 2025 and 2026, feelings of excitement and hope have plummeted, while anger and anxiety have risen (10:20 - 11:15).
Active Resistance: The discussion concludes with reports that many young workers are not just skeptical but are actively sabotaging company AI initiatives by refusing to use the tools or by misusing them to protect proprietary data (13:43 - 14:06).

A Call for Regulation: Pope Leo emphasizes that AI should not be rejected, but he calls for human control to remain paramount, preventing corporations from unilaterally dictating its impact (0:43–1:07).
Historical Context: The encyclical is framed through the lens of the Industrial Revolution, drawing parallels to Pope Leo XIII’s 135-year-old document that advocated for workers' rights against exploitation (1:10–1:35).
Ethical Concerns: The Pope expresses alarm regarding the potential for morality to be offloaded to algorithms and voices deep concern about the role of AI in modern warfare (2:16–2:40).
Addressing Human Exploitation: Interestingly, the document addresses the slave trade, with the Pope apologizing for past church leaders who failed to condemn it or even promoted it, linking this historical moral failure to the modern-day risks of exploitation via AI (4:03–4:50).
According to Vatican correspondent Megan Williams, this encyclical reflects Pope Leo’s background as a modern, younger pope with personal experience using technology and working on the "peripheries" of the world, making him uniquely attuned to the implications of the digital divide and AI development (2:54–4:00).

The Nature of the Scam: These channels use AI voice clones to read scripts often scraped from sources like Wikipedia, flooding the platform with dozens of videos per day across multiple channels. Because they rely on the reputation and communication style of iconic figures like Feynman, they exploit viewers' trust in scientific authority to generate views (2:23-4:35).
Identifying the Grift: Kyle notes several red flags to look for when spotting these channels:
An impossible upload cadence (e.g., 20-30 minute videos every 12 hours) (4:50-5:08).
Near-identical thumbnails and topics across multiple channels (4:45-4:49, 5:25-5:34).
Suspicious disclaimers in the channel description that discourage reporting (5:10-5:23).
The Broader Problem: This issue extends beyond Feynman to other prominent figures like Carl Sagan, Michio Kaku, and Neil deGrasse Tyson. Kyle emphasizes that this isn't just about misinformation; it's a moral issue involving the unauthorized exploitation of real people’s legacies and families (6:05-7:00, 7:59-8:30).
How to Respond: To help combat this, Kyle advises viewers to not watch these videos, report them as spam to YouTube, and tag the actual creators or their estates if their content is being stolen (8:31-8:55).

Flood the zone with crap and make a killing while you do it.

The Trump Administration's Stance (0:00 - 7:18):

The White House initially drafted an executive order to create a voluntary oversight system, allowing the government to review new AI models for dangerous capabilities (1:12 - 1:47).
The order was abruptly canceled after influence from major tech figures, including Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, and David Sacks, who argued it would hinder innovation and empower political opponents (3:45 - 4:47).
The move highlights a trend of relying on personal lobbying by "tech oligarchs" rather than transparent legislative processes (5:55 - 6:08).
The Pope’s Perspective (7:19 - 12:47):

Pope Leo recently released his first encyclical on AI, arguing that without independent oversight and transparency, the technology risks amplifying the power of the elite and imposing their own "moral vision" on society (7:56 - 9:09).
The video notes that the Pope, possessing a mathematics degree, approaches the issue from a long-term, ethical standpoint, seeking to provide a "voice of conscience" against the unchecked hubris of industry leaders (8:23 - 10:26).
Societal Impacts and Future Outlook (12:48 - 16:02):

The global race for AI dominance has left the public feeling largely unprotected, with rising anxiety over job displacement and the lack of practical alternatives (13:14 - 14:23).
The video concludes by emphasizing the need for robust legal frameworks and a political system that does not abdicate its responsibility to govern, characterizing the current landscape as one where leaders prioritize personal branding over addressing the serious risks posed by AI (15:13 - 15:55).

Old gods taking on the new gods indeed.

The Rise of AI Slop: The video highlights that approximately 20% of YouTube content is estimated to be AI-generated (8:17), often characterized by poor quality, inaccuracies, and deceptive practices designed to game the algorithm.
Impact on Creators & Trust: Many legitimate creators are struggling to compete with the sheer volume of automated content, which can be pumped out at a rate of 30 videos per day (2:25). Additionally, the video notes instances of "voice theft" and content plagiarism where AI models scrape and replicate established creators' work (4:13).
YouTube's Response: The platform has been criticized for its slow reaction, though as of May 2026, YouTube CEO Neil Mohan announced new measures (13:57). This includes automatic AI labeling for photorealistic content, allowing viewers to identify AI-generated media (14:00).
The Cost of Automation: While some AI tools can assist in productivity, the video emphasizes the danger of relying on them to replace human thought, potentially weakening critical skills and original creativity (20:53).
Platform Governance Failures: The video details the negative side effects of YouTube's automated moderation systems, which have erroneously banned innocent, human-made channels (such as stop-motion creators) due to "inauthentic" flagging (18:46).
Conclusion:
ColdFusion concludes that while generative AI is a fascinating technology, its current application for mass-scale, low-effort exploitation is a "landfill" problem that YouTube must address to restore user trust. The host advocates for human-centric content creation and the necessity of thoughtful, intentional media.

Youtube is getting bad. I see so many channels that are just AI crap. Usually dead science guys lately. Feynman I have seen 3 times this month.

And with YT getting their creators to make more content and longer, I just end up skipping a lot of it because I don't have any more time in a day.

Dual Platform Model: Palantir operates through two primary platforms: Foundry, which focuses on private sector data operations (3:06-3:39), and Gotham, a government-facing tool used for intelligence, war targeting, and mass surveillance (3:51-4:06).
Ideological Stance: CEO Alex Karp has been vocal about his vision for the company, arguing that Western institutions require advanced AI-powered tools to maintain global superiority (1:38-1:50, 18:35-18:50). The company’s philosophy is deeply rooted in this belief, leading to skepticism about how its power and data aggregation might affect civil liberties and democratic institutions (22:18-23:18, 24:06-25:12).
Expansion and Influence: The video highlights Palantir's integration into various domestic federal agencies and international police forces, essentially becoming a central data hub for governments (5:40-6:00). Its involvement in military conflicts, including the use of Project Maven for automated target selection, is also discussed (9:28-9:50).
Leadership and Strategy: Alex Karp and co-founder Peter Thiel maintain significant control over the company through specific share structures, ensuring their long-term vision persists (20:46-21:02). The company has recently shifted toward using a mix of "hard power" messaging and "soft power" branding to increase its visibility (25:42-26:30).
The video concludes by questioning whether Palantir is building a necessary digital immune system for the West or creating a dangerous, unchecked infrastructure that could be easily abused (28:55-29:08).
