TLDR Russian economy is intrinsically tied to war and has to have war to be sustained like a coal fired steam engine. There is no end to war with the current regime in power.

TLDR PAtriot was overperforming early on as Russian were targeting the batteries directly. Once the Russian ignored Patriots and just stuck to regular targets the Patriots were much less effective. Ukraine Air defence is being overwhelmed.
