TLDR Ukraine is the anvil that Putin has chosen to shatter his military and economy upon. Ukraine will bleed out even if Trump walks away but it will take Russia with it.

Also, Russia can't use the I win button of a general mobilization as it would end up toppling their own government. Moral is low on both sides and reinforcements options are limited. Desertion is becoming an issue for boths sides so that is a push but wounded have a much better chance on the Ukrainians side.

This must be a red flag for the EU as Ukraine loss would become a route and the baltic states would be next.

I am sad for the environment of the Black Sea, but not Russia. Everything bad that happens to Russia is their own fault.
