BREAKING: Trump's illegal tariffs are about to cause a huge mess in the US Economy.

Why?

"A coalition of 800 small businesses across the country who weren't happy about the tariffs saying they were the ones paying the brunt of these costs. They just put out a statement saying they are sending immediate letters to the white house and congress demanding full, fast and automatic tariff refunds. We talk about how the refunds work for the tariffs, how messy you envision this getting?"

Businesses will now request refunds, and there will likely be huge class action lawsuits against the US government. Additionally, the budget is about to have major issues.

BREAKING: Cantor Fitzgerald, now run by Howard Lutnick’s sons, has been buying the rights to potential tariff refunds at roughly 20–30% of the refund value. For example, a company that paid $10 million in tariffs might sell refund rights for $2–$3 million.

Supreme Court subsequently struck down the tariffs, entitling holders of refund claims to full government refunds, potentially yielding billions for Lutnick's bank.

For all of those who have been blaming Canada for "not making a deal," welcome to reality.

The countries who negotiated "deals" are now getting whacked with higher tariffs, unilaterally and arbitrarily.

They did nothing to provoke that. He's just angry with the United States Supreme Court.

The tariffs on Canadian steel and aluminum are in violation of our earlier deal: CUSMA.

Deals don't matter when negotiating with a counterparty who doesn't respect them.

We still have to do our best to preserve what we can of CUSMA and "negotiate," but with eyes wide open.

That means dispensing with the naïve belief that we can return to normal trade relations anytime soon.
