Around 1,500 Russian trucks are stuck at the Iran border — cargo is rotting and drivers face heavy fines

The situation began after a drone incident at Nakhchivan airport, after which Azerbaijan completely halted cargo transit across the border with Iran.

A massive queue of trucks has formed at the Astara crossing. Vehicles have been waiting for several days, and only about a hundred were allowed through overnight.
