Drugs when misused are definitely bad.
But scare tactics cost people their lives. Supervised consumption sites save lives. You can't put dead people into rehab.

My neighbors daughter died last week from fentanyl. She went to work and came home to find her on her bed face down and blue in the face, too late to save. This is why safe injections are needed when the drug supply is toxic by a single grain of carfentanil that is meant to tranquilize horses is used.
She was clean for years and had just relapsed ONCE. Safe injections are not the perfect solution but they remove the stigma that kills, the stigma of shame that forces addicts to carry the burden ALONE.
Ford sees drug addicts as expendable and an eyesore not as a serious health crisis in both physical and mental health. He is the wrong person to lead a picnic let alone the country.

He is unable to show people dying from safe supply or in safe injection sites so he HAS TO shut them down in order to keep 1950s attitudes towards drug users satisfied.
You're supposed to be thankful he hasn't decided to use the notwithstanding clause to shut down Ontario weed stores and make pot possession illegal again.
Look for more enlightened thinking from Ford, Moe, Smith, Poilievre & Assoc. Inc. in the future. Easy to adapt to, just cross out the two zero at the top of your calendar and write in one nine.
