3rd safest seat and the party is lined up behind him.
Should they keep him? +40% under him so he has a lot of wind at his back but can he do what his boss Harper did or Brian Mulroney? A leopard doesn't change spots and it is awfully hungry for faces. Why do you think Carney is in such a rush to get him back in?

I *really* was hoping that PP would fade into the background noise. Hopefully the Conservative party will oust him as party leader.

He's the devil they know. Will he try to brute force the election by doubling down on the rhetoric? He can't and expect to win. He needs Carney to screw up so he can swoop in. pp will play the same tune but not at the same tempo as he has. He needs an opening and that now needs to be provided to him by Carney.

I hope those guys say 'fuck you, we liked the other guy' (who was 6 months from pension) and vote Liberal for the arrogance of PP.

pp is a reflection of the base. They are the ones that are truly arrogant, he is just a marionette dancing to their tune. They don't want him to be reaching out to what they see as traitors and communists. So as much as he is an asshole (and he is) he is boxed in by the people who are predisposition to his line of thinking to begin with. That is going to hang around his neck like an albatross and they see that as being strong.
