Flight Attendants Fight Back As Air Canada Execs Run To 'Mommy And Daddy'

No taxation without representation is a good rule of thumb. So how did this monstrosity of unpaid labour happen? When this was the norm wages for the industry were much higher and cost of living much lower and stable. Wiggle room is long since gone. Cost of living has gone through the roof and has not kept pace with cost of inflation. All of the emergency compensation that was granted to Air Canada from 2021 when to the executive and not in maintaining staff. Now chickens have come home to roost. CEO's now make more than 450x what attendants do and the attendants are not making minimum wage.
If you treat your workers like goats you are going to get what you pay for.

Why would a corporation bargain fairly when they know the Government will step in with legislation and arbitration. They can sit back and get a great deal handed to them.

Wow, management had no plan for passengers? I'm shocked.
No unpaid work. So now does westjet and porter air also have to pay their workers?

Fast results, eh?
And now other airlines are going to have to end unpaid work as their contracts expire.
I'd call this one for the union.
