Local council decided the municipality needed bylaws, so they universally adopted a generic list of bylaws that's suited for West End Vancouver. With the suggested fines.
If a bear enters my yard and my dog barks at it (which is his fucking JOB and they DO for 6 weeks every spring and fall) I can be fined $200
You can's fix your own car in your own driveway and take more than 3 days
There are no definitions for any noise violations ie: what constitutes noise, or how many decibels
etc
etc
etc
And now they need an enforcement officer which in a town of <1000 homes will cost around $100,000 salary plus a vehicle. So much for budget restraints.

Haven't even worried about that part.
It's thee $100K figure for a Bylaw Enforcement Officer wages, benefits & payroll costs, plus damn near that for a vehicle and maintenance.
In a town losing businesses and population.

As I mentioned my little dog chases bears out of the yard and back into the bush. New bylaws say I can be fined $100 for not securing my garbage can and $200 noise infraction for the dog barking at the bear.
The woman with the antique pickup at the end of her driveway with the nail business sign on it could be hit for $100 a day.
Fines listed for posting lost dog or yard sale notices on telephone poles in there too.
I moved away from Burnaby to get away from that. $150 fine for replacing two broken treads on my front steps without a $75 permit.

Bo kidding. My landlord got the receipt in the mail and came and paid me back. Said he was happy to for not bothering him for something so simple.
It's thew bureaucrat brain. They CAN so they DO.
Had a friend who left his job. I used to teach Safety. Now I just give tickets out for not following the rules nobody teaches....
