Inside Canada's NDP Leadership Race
TLDR the NDP have checked out of the one thing that made them relevant and have instead gone into survival mode. The last time they tried to out liberal the liberals they ended up with Tom Mulcair, a competent politician no doubt but one that failed to inspire the base or the public at large. They are just managing their demise rather than raging against the dying of the light and that makes the entire enterprise forgettable footnote in Canadian history.

Re: Inside Canada's NDP Leadership Race
If there was SOME base of support beyond rank and file dippers then possibly. Right now that base is so fragmented and diluted it's practically worthless as a political movement. Getting policy that isn't passed by committee in the NDP is practically impossible. Who would step in to that snakes den to only get denagarted by the genderfluid community that is aghast at any gate keeping they can't directly control.
NDP are DONE. They swapped principles for power since Jack left and the whole movement is like a slow leaking tire from the back hall bickering. They have less political relevance than the Rhino party and the PPC. They people they need to vote NDP have checked out of politics as a whole and don't even vote. It is why they need a leader with a VISION and won't ask permission to seize it. That is a horse of a different color that this crowd can't coalesce around and would view as repugnant and label it as toxic, extra and colonialist.
When they scrap the whole party and focus on fundamentals they will find a path back to relevance but not before. They are a party that are their own worst enemy and no strong benefactor waiting in the winds to bolster their coffers. The only thing they can count on is the working class that is in a cost of living crisis. Instead of just focusing on that they are still trying to be liberal lite.

That was the whole point of the video. They need a leader with a vision that will bring back those who strayed.
A vision that will bring back a sense of power and belonging to the average Joe.
A little less beholden to it's labour roots, in there days when that is dominated by public sector ones that feel entitled to be the ones leading wages and benefits and only pissing off the pub;c doing so.
Take up a couple real platform issues like electoral reform, getting rid of that goddam notwithstanding clause, a greater effort in expanding trade diversity, technology, research.
And a greater knowledge of how to use technology to increase benefits and delivery of services beyond simply tossing money at every problem.
