NDP- will they have a rebirth?
Will the NDP ever be a party again and have a rebirth? I keep getting e-mails from the Federal NDP asking me to check my membership status. I'm not a member. I don't know who to vote for in the next Federal election. Is the NDP a viable alternative after the decimation of 2025?

The country doesn't need the NDP the NDP needs the country. The membership needs to come to grips with that and not be distracted by committee on the reason for the party. Far too much damage has been done to the brand for them to be a political force either nationally or at the provincial level. The only way NDP works is when they present a better option than what is on offer by such a margin it isn't even in doubt. That doesn't come by being liberal lite. It comes by being a serious government in waiting that has put in the work with an actual budget to be compared against a tired, abusive and corrupt incumbent.

I completely agree. Canada has spoken. I've voted NDP my entire life. I think the NDP is now irrelevant. In the next provincial and federal elections I'll be looking where to park my vote. I don't like the Liberals or the Cons. The Greens are another pointless party. Sheesh.Dr Strangelove wrote: Tue Nov 18, 2025 1:11 pm The country doesn't need the NDP the NDP needs the country. I'll be voting NDP in BC because the opposition is a total shit show and would be irresponsible to vote for them. Federally I will be backing Carney to the hilt especially if he make good on his promise to stake the future of the country away from the US and toward being self sufficient.
Greens are a dead stick. They are a party of ONE. If I was in her riding I would vote for her but resent what the party has become.

My MLA is Naheed Nenshi, the next Premier of Alberta.
My MP is Heather McPherson. NDP.
My MP is Heather McPherson. NDP.
And it sucks. The Greens are the answer. They are smack in between the Conservatives (using the term loosely) and the Liberals. Fiscally Conservative, socially liberal, environmentally guerilla.Dr Strangelove wrote: Tue Nov 18, 2025 1:41 pm Greens are a dead stick. They are a party of ONE. Here federally the Liberals barely outpoll the Christian Heritage Psrty, so I will be trying to return this riding to the NDP.
Provincially, I will try but it's the home riding of John Rustad...
