Wildberries isn’t “the Russian Amazon.” It’s Amazon, Walmart, Wish, Alibaba, and the entire Russian countryside all rolled into one and the same monster. Since 2004, the company has become one of the most structurally vital parts of the Russian economy—and now two of its largest logistics hubs lie in ruins.

Wildberries and Ozon are expected to control 77% of all e-commerce in Russia by the end of 2026. Wildberries alone: 45%. So it’s not “a company.” It’s Russian everyday life.

4.5 million daily orders. 48 million monthly shoppers. 95% deliveries within 24 hours. Thousands of pickup points. One million active sellers.

This isn’t just logistics. It’s an entire ecosystem of small business owners, suppliers, drivers, warehouse workers, and pickup points who now stand wondering why the sky suddenly exploded.

Wildberries has also been squeezing out traditional stores for years. For many Russians, their little pickup point is as central as the kiosk used to be. And now two of the biggest warehouses are gone—poof—like someone hit “factory reset” for Russian e-commerce.

This is going to hurt. Not just in Moscow. But in the entire nervous system of the Russian economy.
