Post by Dr Strangelove »

Surveillance: Implementing Over-the-Horizon Radar technology to detect low-flying threats beyond the earth's curvature, with the first major system arriving in the early 2030s (7:35 - 8:58).
Infrastructure: Investing $15.68 billion to transform Forward Operating Locations into permanent, year-round northern bases to support fighter aircraft (7:02 - 12:50).
Command & Control: Modernizing communications and data processing for "technology-enabled decision-making" (9:32 - 10:26).
Air Power: Transitioning to the F-35 fighter fleet and acquiring the CC-330 Husky aerial tanker to enhance intercept capabilities (10:26 - 11:45).
Identified Gaps and Challenges:

Despite the massive investment, the video highlights remaining vulnerabilities, specifically the lack of a ballistic missile defense system, the absence of ground-based air defense for smaller targets like drones, and potential staffing shortages in critical technical trades (13:41 - 15:52).

There was an ABM Treaty in place for decades. And Reagan's Star Wars wasn't built.
Took a President of Peace to rip up all the treaties, militarize space, whack things with a stick, kidnap leaders, restart piracy and start wars to get back to 11:59 on the Doomsday Clock.
