Germany should stop reacting and start announcing. Berlin’s answer to Leipzig must be a published escalation ladder, stated in advance and in writing, so that Moscow knows exactly what each proven attack will cost before it sends the next drone.
The first costs Russia every intelligence officer in Germany, declared or not. The second unlocks Taurus for Kyiv. The third seizes the frozen assets outright rather than politely harvesting the interest. The fourth invites Article 4 consultations and a NATO response. No exemptions, no review panels, no second thoughts.
Berlin can afford this because Russia is not a problem for NATO, and Moscow knows it better than Berlin does. Before the war the Russian military amounted to roughly one fifteenth of the alliance’s capacity. Today, after four and a half years bleeding out in Ukraine, it is a starving lion with the hyenas already circling, still dangerous to whatever wanders too close but no longer master of anything.
That is the enemy Germany answered with a closed consulate. Deterrence is not a mood, it is a schedule.

The Skies Over Russia Just Got Interesting.
Zelensky has done something rather magnificent here, which is to declare Russian airspace unsafe with the cheerful politeness of a man telling you the restaurant you booked has a rat problem. He is not threatening a single civilian aircraft, you understand. Heavens no.
There will simply be an enormous number of drones up there, and physics will do the rest.
The genius is in the audience. This is not a message for the Kremlin, it is a memo to every airline accountant and insurance underwriter still pretending that flights into Moscow are a normal commercial proposition. Insurers do not care about ideology. They care about actuarial tables, and those tables just caught fire.
Russia started a war and exported it by missile and drone across a border. Now the war is coming home to its departure lounges, and no amount of Kremlin silence will reroute it.
Having drones loiter in civilian airspace round the clock is the same as blockading a port with ships. Emergency flights only if that and cheaper than bombing cities.

In addition to promoting Pete Hegseth’s silly macho propaganda, he actively participated in anti-Ukraine rhetoric and spouted straight-up Kremlin propaganda.

Germany and other European countries that have not done so yet - let’s stop issuing Schengen tourist visas to Russian citizens.
The Baltic states did this back in 2022.
German authorities have identified suspects in the Leipzig drone attack, including a Belarusian national with a Russian passport who entered the Schengen area on an Italian tourist visa issued in Minsk in late April.

Re: Ukraine war thread
The Glide Bomb Threat: While missile strikes have been a focus, the use of air-launched glide bombs is expanding rapidly (reaching up to 70,000 in 2026). These are difficult to intercept and threaten to overwhelm Ukraine's defenses (1:46 - 3:55).
Air Defense Layers: The video breaks down Ukraine's layered defense, including medium-tier systems like NASAMS, IRIS-T, and Improved HAWK (4:09 - 7:07). It highlights that these systems are currently dispersed, making full area coverage impossible.
Interceptor Inventory Crisis: Ukraine is facing a severe shortage of advanced interceptor missiles for systems like the Patriot and SAMP/T (8:25 - 11:23). Recent trends suggest that even AMRAAM stocks for NASAMS and fighter jets are thinning (11:24 - 12:42).
Potential Future Developments: The video posits that if Russia adopts a more aggressive strategy—risking more aircraft to test Ukraine's defenses—they could target key Ukrainian logistics and production hubs, potentially impacting the wider war effort (12:43 - 17:25).

KALLAS: We need to restrict visas for Russians. It is not okay that Russia is bombing Ukraine, killing civilians while Russians are entering EU, and enjoying our hospitality. These tourist visas are also a tool used for acts of sabotage. This is a matter of our security as well.

Re: Ukraine war thread
Putin's Changing Image: The video highlights a stark shift in Putin's public persona, contrasting his traditionally curated "strongman" image with his recent, noticeably awkward appearance alongside Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi (0:00 - 0:35, 6:45).
Admission of Vulnerability: Putin has reportedly admitted that his survival is linked to achieving victory in Donbas, with the video noting his fear that he could be "hung" if he fails (0:35 - 0:50).
Economic and Strategic Pressure: Ukraine is intensifying long-range strikes on Russia's logistics, fuel infrastructure, and economy. Bill Browder emphasizes that Putin is now subject to the "laws of gravity" regarding the war's actual progress, as he faces mounting economic constraints and military losses (1:05 - 1:14, 8:45 - 9:30).
Escalation Tactics: Browder argues that a "frightened" Putin is more dangerous. He expects Putin to rely on continued escalation, including further mass conscription and intensified aerial attacks on Ukrainian civilians, hoping to break the will of the Ukrainian people and influence upcoming Western elections (17:15 - 18:35).
Potential Outcomes: While Browder suggests that a total victory for either side is unlikely, he discusses the possibility of the war "petering out" or settling into a Korean-style stalemate with a demilitarized zone, rather than a formal, negotiated peace treaty (14:09 - 15:45).
Nuclear Rhetoric: Addressing the threat of tactical nuclear weapons, Browder believes Putin will avoid this path because it would likely alienate key partners like China and India and render him a global pariah, potentially sealing his own downfall (19:12 - 20:23).

Hybrid Warfare: While Germany does not consider itself at war, officials describe being daily targets of Russian hybrid operations (1:31 - 1:43).
Suspects Identified: Investigators have identified two suspects: an ethnic Russian with a Latvian passport and a Belarusian man holding a Russian passport (1:56 - 2:07).
Regional Tension: Leaders like Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk and EU President Ursula von der Leyen have called for a united response, though there is a challenge in how to react without escalating into full-blown war (2:16 - 4:00).
Ongoing Incidents: The video details a rise in suspicious activities, including potential sabotage of power grids, an arson attack on a drone component factory in Poland, and an explosion at a German train station (4:50 - 9:15).
NATO has called out Russia dead to rights and have caught them red handed. So now what? They have dragged their feet for years now. Will anything change? Without the US NATO is a paper tiger. Iran hires criminals to do one and done attacks. Russia can do the same and will not be limited to any region in the world.
