A Landslide Just Blocked a Major River in Canada; Now 20,000 are at Risk

They're expecting it to top the landslide dam this weekend. Warnings to affected residents are issued and people are warned not to go near the river.
The blockage is being monitored 24/7 and is mainly dirt, sand and gravel so it will be washed down the river soon after it tops the dam.
BTW it's a bit cheeky to call it a major river. Unless you're familiar with central BC you probably never heard of it. But it will make a surge in the Fraser river.
