Social media is a tool and it is only as evil (or good) as the hand that wields it. A good mechanic doesn't blame his tools. X is still the number 1 news app around the world but it is owned by a madman who is enthralled by a madman who are all working for a cabal of billionaires who are loyal to only seeing number go up.

That's why A Canadian owned and operated social media (see post above) is a national security issue. Much like having the CBC and Canada post mandates to serve the people we also need a medium for the people to express their opinions in a public square that is not under the sway of hostile foreign interests.
