While optimization could further increase the potential capacity of Trans Mountain, the pipeline is currently operating at 85 per cent of its current maximum capacity.
Canadian Energy Minister Tim Hodgson said his government is taking steps toward exporting natural gas to Europe, and criticized former Prime Minister Justin Trudeau for not making the same effort.

Well nobody wants or expects them to sink more federal money into it. Even though laying a third pipe along the existing ones would be the cheapest way, no private outfits are leaping at the chance either. So I guess LNG will remain the focus.
Speaking of which I read the stupidest headline in the papers today. US companies are exporting CDN LNG for a profit!
surprise, surprise. They'd sell it for no profit or for a loss?
Kind of like crying: Look that Car Dealer is selling Fords for them at a profit!

So, we have to heavily subsidize a hugely profitable industry so that it can make more money by making the environment more hostile and costing us more money in damage from weather events?
Did I get that right?
And Trudeau couldn't invest in fossil fuel and reduce emissions at the same time. Carney somehow has given up. He perhaps sees that the bad stuff will happen after he dies anyhow.
