Complete waste of government resources.
If target shooters were performing gun crimes, I'd say take them away. But taking law abiding people and giving them $600 for a $1200+ rifle, and wasting billions on making nobody safer just to get votes in Quebec . . . waste of time. Heaven forbid going after the people smuggling handguns across the border . ..
