AXE THE TAX - an replace it with a flat $1.00 a litre "Canada Energy Access Tax" to ram an oil & gas pipeline through from Alberta to Halifax
- would do more to reduce CO2 by actually hurting so much people would put some effort into driving less and less effort into whining about paying a carbon tax
- cut the need to import oil and boost Alberta's market
- allow East coasters access to LNG for home heating, which will reduce CO2 over oil heat.
- boost sales of EVs through cost of use rather than cash incentives
UBI - start reducing the number of programs into one bureaucracy.
- Send every adult $1500 a month. Set the basic tax exemption to like $24000 and raise each bracket by 1 or 2% and $200K+ 5%. Include CPP OAS and GAIN and diability into it and make adjustments so no one loses.
- roll one agency at a time into it every 6 months giving employees notice to post elsewhere or quit.
- sell the vacated buildings
- centralize the new agency in maybe 3 small towns in rural Canada far from major cities to encourage people to GTFO
GST - everyone says a temporary holiday is a joke, so put it back to 7% as we have an deficit emergency now. Rebates be damned, they're part of the UBI. Enshrine food, clothing and shelter as non taxable. Remove it entirely on new homes built outside of major cities.
DEFENCE - put the Coast Guard back as an arm of the Cdn Forces. Add Border Services as another with Port and Airport police as part of it.
CBC - freeze it's funding, don't cut it. Add a new $50 tax to the sale of new TVs they must use for better productions and therefore better ad revenue. All "bonuses" must be approved by Parliament.
MEDIA - as per my thoughts above, add a $25 tax to all cell phones, tablets and pre-assembled computers to be distributed by CRTC for Cdn content.
ALL - make any of these absurd govt management bonuses be decided by a vote in Parliament, sorry you don't work for Elon Musk so we only voted you a $25,000 bonus.

CUT THE FAT - everyone is aware of the 'mandarins', how you can fire the ones at the very top and lay off as many at the bottom as you want and nothing changes. Dump the ones who waste time inventing and enforcing "policies" and keep the ones that actually make things work
POST OFFICE - after the strike proving how irrelevant they've become, a full review is needed. Parcels are where it's at. Maybe a ticket in your mailbox that says come pick up at the Post Office and a Pay Your Bills kiosk or two inside of those for those without door to door service or not at home for deliveries.
